Seeking Michigan Whipples

I've received several reports this week about a new "one-stop shop for Michigan historical records," called Seeking Michigan (http://www.seekingmichigan.org). Seeking Michigan is a partnership between the Library of Michigan and the Archives of Michigan. It includes digitized state records.

I have already added a number of new Whipples, as well as more information about already known Whipples from Michigan. Check out their web site!

Speaking of Michigan Whipples, here are a few notable ones:

• Charles W. Whipple, Chief Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court in 1848 and delegate to the state's constitutional convention in 1850.
  
• Ransom Eli Olds, originator of the Oldsmobile.
• Seth Arca Whipple, painter of Great Lakes scenes.
